Audio Recording Techniques
In this Audio Production course, students will focus on mastering the techniques of audio recording. Some topics covered throughout the class include microphone placement, proper gain stages, effective equalization and frequency balancing. Students will also have the opportunity to explore the musical field of audio engineering and production, including the fundamentals of compression, effects and digital audio processing.
Digital Composition
Students enrolled in this course will be introduced to the various methods of writing and arranging music with the use of a computer. Using industry-current technology, students will have the chance to learn effective composition techniques and learn to write music in a variety of styles.
Recording On Location
This Audio Production class is designed to help students feel confident with recording on location. Topics include on-site microphone selection, placement, and recording equipment usage. Students will also have the opportunity to learn practical on-site recording techniques for news reporting, live concerts and movie production.
Sound Dynamics
The focus of this Audio Production course is to further explore the concepts and techniques involved in audio mastering. Some of the things students can expect to learn include the technical aspects of taking a final mix and preparing it for replication to a CD or DVD.
