Press ReleasesCollins College Design Students Present Design Concepts for Historical Titus House, Last Remaining Victorian House in Scottsdale, Arizona
Tempe, Arizona (October 26, 2007) - Collins College interior design students will be displaying design concepts to update the Titus House, Scottsdale’s oldest Victorian home, during the Scottsdale Historical Society Homes Tour on October 27. The Titus House, located near downtown Scottsdale, was built in 1892 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house is currently owned and occupied by private residents. According to Catherine Pliess, department chair for Collins College’s interior design department, "The students' concepts incorporate current life styles while respecting the historical elements of the home. The concepts illustrate the many possibilities the house has to offer." The Scottsdale Historical Society Homes Tour is Saturday, October 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to the Titus House, other homes on the tour are located in the Arcadia and Sherwood Heights neighborhoods, as well as in Paradise Valley.
