Tempe, AZ (October 26, 2006) Rashid is a perpetual innovator who has designed everything from furniture to fragrance bottles and fine crystal to plastic trash cans. Designing for an impressive array of clients from Alessi to Georg Jensen, Umbra to Prada, Miyake to Method, Rashid is radically changing the aesthetics of product design and the very nature of the consumer culture. To date, he has had over 2,000 objects put into production. Rashid has won numerous industry awards, and is a frequent guest lecturer at universities and conferences globally. He was born in Cairo, Egypt, reared mainly in Canada, and now lives and works in New York. There is no charge to attend the open house and students and the public are invited to attend.
