Press ReleasesHome of Collins College Instructor is selected for ARCHITECT'S & DESIGNERS' OWN HOMES TOUR 2 & SYMPOSIUM
Tempe, Arizona (October 25, 2007) - The house of Matthew Trzebiatowski, A.I.A., an interior design instructor at Collins College, was selected to be part of the ARCHITECTS' & DESIGNERS' OWN HOMES TOUR 2 & SYMPOSIUM. Only 10 metropolitan-phoenix architects' homes were selected to showcase their own homes for the tour. Trzebiatowski's residence, named Xeros which means "dry" in Greek, is designed to blend with the stark beauty of the Arizona desert. The cutting-edge glass-front house stands 30 feet high and overlooks the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. The home's overall design emphasizes simple, unusual solutions and displays an experiential use of space and materials. Trzebiatowski applies this philosophy to all of his architectural designs in his private practice, blank studio (www.blankspaces.net). Trzebiatowski's Xeros residence has received national and international recognition. It was one of only eight homes nationwide selected for Architectural Record "Record Houses 2006" issue. Most recently, Trzebiatowski was among a select group of artists published in Booth-Clibborn's book Phoenix: 21st Century City. Trzebiatowski is a registered architect in Arizona and Wisconsin.
