Collins College Instructor Works Behind the Scenes on "The Kingdom"

Tempe, Arizona (September 28, 2007) - Robert Agee, an instructor at Collins College, worked behind the scenes on the block buster hit, "The Kingdom" staring Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner. It opened in theatres this past weekend. It debuted with $17.1 million in box office sales.

Approximately 90 percent of "The Kingdom" was filmed around Phoenix metropolitan area where Agee lives and works. Universal Studios selected Phoenix to film its Middle East scenes.

Agee, who teaches in the school's film & video production degree program, was hired to work on the movie as a unit one electrician. Agee and about 12 other people were responsible for the primary lighting for all of the talent for the scenes that took place in a Saudi Arabian city. Agee also constructed parts of the façade for the city.

"It was by far the largest movie I have ever worked on," said Agee. "A typical day on "The Kingdom" started about 3:00 p.m. and ended about 6:00 a.m. in the morning. Some days there would be about 200 people on set and the next there would be over 2,000."

Although "The Kingdom" is the largest film Agee has worked on behind the scenes, it is not the first. Recent Hollywood projects he has done lighting for include "Kids in American" and the television series "Twin Palms."

"As Arizona continues to position itself as a film hub and an economical place to make movies, I hope to be even more involved in large projects such as "The Kingdom," said Agee.
