Join Collins College and IFP/PHX for F.U.S.E. 2 Film Festival and Red Carpet Guests at 14th Street Studio Saturday, October 20, 2007



What: The public is invited to the second annual F.U.S.E. 2 Film Festival (Film Uniting Students and Experts). F.U.S.E. 2 is sponsored by Collins College and Independent Feature Project (IFP/PHX). F.U.S.E. 2 kicks off at 11:00 A.M at the grand opening of Collins College’s new film and video facility, 14th Street Studio.

The film extravaganza includes all day screenings of selected short films. Film categories include drama, comedy, romance, horror, animation, and documentary submitted from students and professional film makers. F.U.S.E. 2 winning films will be announced at 3:00 p.m. Other events include presentations by three recognized Hollywood film makers and an appearance from the SCI-FI & Horror Film Fest Street Team in full costume.

F.U.S.E. 2 is open to the public at no charge.

When: Saturday, October 20 starting at 11:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Where: 14th Street Studio, 1425 W. 14th St. Suite, 101; Tempe, AZ 85281.
The new 14th Street Studio is 25,000 sq. ft. and includes a 2,000 sq. ft. 150- seat theater.

F.U.S.E. 2 All Day Schedule of Events:

11:00 A.M. - F.U.S.E. 2 Film Festival starts with all day film screenings of selected shorts

11:00 A.M. - Camille Cellucci, Hollywood special effects producer for Titanic and other major, films presents: Cellucci will share her professional experiences and talk about breaking into the film industry. Cellucci is best known for her work as the visual effects producer on the Titanic. Other film projects include Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Willow, The Abyss, Invisible Man and Meteor Man. Cellucci worked as a produced for Sony Pictures Imageworks (SPI) and was involved with Speed, Phenomenon, The Ghost and the Darkness, Michael and City of Angels. Recent credits producing visual effects include The Matrix sequels and Reign of Fire.

Noon - 1 p.m. - Student and film industry networking mixer

1:00 P.M. - Jeff Dowd, film producer, promoter and cofounder of Sundance, presents: Dowd will host an open forum on how to get a film produced, publicized and recognized. To the millions of cult fans of the Coen Brothers film, The Big Lebowski, Dowd is known as the real life inspiration for the Jeff Bridges character "The Dude" and is recognized worldwide as a pop cultural icon. Dowd is a cofounder of Sundance and a past board member of the Sundance Film Festival and Sundance Institute. Films Dowd has produced, promoted or consulted on include Gandhi, The Blair Witch Project, Better Luck Tomorrow, Blood Simple, Chariots of Fire, WarGames, Hoosiers, Desperately Seeking Susan, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster, Kissing Jessica Stein, and Ferngully: The Last Rainforest.

2: 45 P.M. - SCI-FI & Horror Film Fest Street Team visits (coming in Sci-Fi costumes)

3:00 P.M. - FUSE 2 Film Festival winners announced

3.30 P.M. - Sean Covel, producer of Napoleon Dynamite, presents:
Covel tells what it was like to make this blockbuster happen. Producing credits include 12 Dogs of Christmas, Think Tank and Beneath.
