Press ReleasesGovernor Napolitano Appoints Dr. Rusty Walker, Provost Collins College, to the Commission for Postsecondary Education
Tempe, Arizona (March 22, 2007) – Collins College announced today that Governor Janet Napolitano has appointed Dr. Rusty Walker, vice president and provost of Collins College, to the Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education (ACPE). The Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education is dedicated to expanding access and increasing success in postsecondary education. The commission is comprised of 16 members, 14 of whom are appointed by the governor. Prior to his appointment, Dr. Walker has been actively involved in ACPE, serving on a number of different subcommittees, including the Articulation and Transfer Credit Initiative and Needs-based Financial Aid Task Force. Dr. Walker is also a member of the board of the Arizona Private School Association. According to Dr. April L. Osborn, executive director, Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education, "Dr. Walker and Collins College have been good partners within the higher education community. Dr. Walker will be an asset to the work of the commission, and the state will benefit from his leadership in this new role. I look forward to working with him."
