Collins College To Host
Video-Game Tournament
Professional Game Designer Ernest Adams To Speak


What:
Collins College, a school of design and technology, will host a video game tournament Saturday, March 10, 2007. Players are invited to challenge and be challenged by fellow gamers. Designer Ernest Adams will attend and speak at the tournament’s conclusion about the Madden video games he worked on (1996 – 2000 editions) and will sign the games he developed in that time frame.

Adams will discuss the elements and principles of game design, provide expert advice and tips, and conduct hands-on activities for aspiring game designers, artists and developers. Adams was instrumental in creating Madden NFL Football, one of the best-selling sports video games ever.

There is no charge for this event and it is open to the public.

Who:
Ernest Adams is a professional game designer, production consultant and a member of Hobo Game Design Consortium (www.ihobo.com). His clients have included Ubisoft, THQ, Elixir Studios, Guinness World Records, Ragdoll, and Sorrent. Adams worked on Dungeon Keeper 3 and Genesis: The Hand of God as a lead game designer at Bullfrog Productions, LTD.

Adams has published two books, Break into the Game Industry: How to Get a Job Making Video Games (McGraw-Hill) and co-authored with Andrew Rollings On Game Design (New Riders Publications). For more information on Adams, visit www.designersnotebook.com.
