COLLINS COLLEGE RELOCATES TEMPE CAMPUS
New modern venue equipped to lead students and staff into the future

PHOENIX (Jan. 5, 2008) – There's nothing like starting out a new year with a clean slate and fresh perspective, and students at Tempe's Collins College campus will get just that as they return from their holiday breaks to a new, sleek and modern facility. The new campus is designed to not only grow with its student body, but also provide students with the tools necessary to reach their full potential.

"In today’s changing world, we have to ensure our students are on the cutting edge of advanced new technologies and platforms that mimic the digital/design industry," said Dr. Joshua Padron, president of Collins College’s two Valley campuses. "Being able to open this new facility at the start of the calendar year gives our students a nice jump start after holiday break."

Collins College has been a Valley staple in the design industry’s education sector, with graduates entering various fields including film and video production, game design, graphic design, interior design, and visual arts. The greatest attribute of the new 70,000 square-foot facility is that it streamlines classrooms and workspaces from five buildings into one modern, colorful facility.

"We go to great lengths at Collins to focus our efforts on the student experience," said Padron. "We’re able to offer our students an industry-current facility, with instructors who bring relevant, real-world experience directly to the classroom."

Located in the Cotton Center business complex, construction on the project began in July 2008, and was completed by Dublin, OH-based Gioffre Companies Inc. in just five short months. Interior Architects designed the project and modeled the new building after a small city with cascading skylines enveloping smaller structures, with an open, clean and contemporary feel throughout. The new Collins College Tempe campus building is located at 4750 South 44th Place, and will welcome a student body of approximately 1200 and 184 employees (that includes 104 faculty members).
