A History Rich in Tradition at Our Colleges in Arizona

When you choose to pursue your passion at Collins College, you’re choosing a place to expand your horizons and follow your career dreams. Our college in Arizona offers two locations – Tempe and Phoenix – where you can receive interactive, hands-on, industry-driven training for today’s global marketplace. Learn more about how Collins College became a leader among colleges in Arizona. It truly is a history rich in tradition.
The year was 1978 and disco was all the rage.  However, Al and Florence Collins had some other moves in mind.  Having come from a successful career as art director for Esquire magazine and owner of his own graphic design firm, Al Collins had the desire to inspire new designers by opening a school.

He and his wife founded Al Collins Graphic Design School in Phoenix.  It grew from a small group of students in an evening class to students in both day and evening programs.  In 1985, the school moved to a larger campus in Tempe and in 1994, it was acquired by Career Education Corporation.  Due to popular demand, in 2003 Collins expanded its school to include a new location in North Phoenix.
Today, our College in Arizona lays the foundation for a successful educational experience with industry-current equipment, an experienced and dedicated staff, and a curriculum that is continually reviewed by our active advisory committees made up of industry professionals.  Collins College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).
